Dr Anirudh Gupta


Role: Ex-Nominated Member 

Dr Anirudh Gupta is an Ex-Member of Cantonment Board, Ferozepur.  He was the first and only civil citizen of Ferozepur district to be directly nominated as a member of Cantonment Board by the Ministry of Defense India. During his tenure, Dr Gupta had immensely contributed in maintaining the decorum of Cantonment Board by removing the unwanted encroachments from the Cantonment. He has played the role of arbitrator between the Board and the local people of Ferozepur to solve conflicts for the organized establishment of Ferozepur Cantonment. FEROZEPUR CANTONMENT was established in the year 1839 when Capt. HM Lawrence was posted as the Assistant Political Agent of NW Frontier. He set up the military garrison on the banks of River Sutlej, about 2 Miles South of Ferozepur City. Although, Ferozepur Cantonment is a Class I Cantonment, being situated on the Indo-Pak Border, the city and the cantt have not witnessed much of industrial & commercial development. The Cantonment is connected to the city by Jhoke Road and to the River Sutlej by GT Road. 

Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee, Ministry of Railway

Role: Member

Dr Anirudh Gupta is a Member of Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee. He is the first and only civil citizen of Ferozepur district to be directly nominated as a member of the, Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee, Ministry of Railway, last year by the GM Northern Railway. As a Member, Dr Gupta is responsible for upgradation of Ferozepur Railway station and facilitation of trains to the local people of Ferozepur. He is also taking care of maintaining and up keep of the railway infrastructure regularly as well as addressing the problems faced by ……… in their daily travel .

Saragarhi Memorial Trust

Role: Executive Member 

Dr Anirudh Gupta has been nominated by the State government as an executive member of the Saragarhi Memorial Trust. Dr Gupta, jointly with the district administration, are responsible for the upkeep and development of the Saragarhi Memorial Trust. Saragarhi Gurudwara Memorial Trust, commemorates the sacrifice of 21 Sikh Soldiers who attained eternal mortality in an unprecedented act of supreme valor,  at Saragarhi in Kohat.  On 12 September, every year people gather here to pay tribute to the heroic soldiers and celebrate Saragarhi Day. The memorial service also provides an occasion for ex-servicemen to have a reunion. 


Role: Executive Member 

Dr. Anirudh Gupta is an executive member of SBSSTC Managing Committee. Dr Gupta along with other members of committee, is responsible for student’s problems which majorly include ragging and other issues faced by students at the campus. The committee also includes an Anti-Ragging Squad to prevent incidents of ragging in college. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1995, affiliated with PTU, Jalandhar and approved by AICTE, New Delhi is located in Ferozepur district, in Punjab.
